Monogram dishwashers
Monogram dishwashers skip cryptic codes for plain words: the Floor Protect system watches a moisture sensor in the base pan and announces LEAK DETECTED when it trips. Behind the quiet 39 dBA tubs sit real diagnostics - accessed in service mode, not guessed from blogs.
A photo of the model label and the complete installation helps the team understand the configuration before the visit.
Statement and Minimalist handle variants with third rack and bottle jets.
Fully integrated models that disappear into cabinetry - hinge and panel weight matter to service.
The 2014-2019 generation widely installed in San Diego - same Floor Protect philosophy.
Earlier Monogram tubs still running; parts order by the full model from the tub plate.
Start with the symptom
A symptom narrows the inspection; it does not identify the failed component. The $99 visit confirms the actual fault on the exact model before any repair is authorized.
The pan must be dry and the source fixed - gasket, hose, pump seal or disposal backflow, located in order.
Rinse aid, vent and fan-assist path on condensation-dry tubs.
Filter, sump and drain path - plus the air gap San Diego installs often include.
Hard San Diego water versus detergent dosing - settings before parts.
Custom panels change door-spring tension - a documented adjustment on integrated models.
Water valve, float and inlet screen, tested in order.
Series and model numbers
One message language across generations - and a model plate that decides which pump, board and door parts the visit brings.
Model label
The model and serial tag is on the left-hand tub wall or the door edge, visible when the door is open. Newer tags carry a QR code that resolves the exact model for parts. Photograph the complete label — the full model and serial identify parts and production year better than the series name alone.
Indicators and alerts
For any message not shown, use the manual for the exact model rather than a generic list.
Monogram diagnostics
LEAK DETECTED is the one message Monogram documents publicly, via the Floor Protect with Alert feature. The 'Monogram dishwasher code tables' circulating online are borrowed from other GE platforms and conflict with each other - they are excluded. Stored faults are read in service mode instead.
Preventive service and owner care
Alpha Pro provides preventive and general maintenance for Monogram dishwashers. The appliance design determines which procedures are accessible and appropriate.
Owner maintenance
Professional maintenance
A professional visit can evaluate accessible systems without assuming every procedure applies to every model.
Diagnosis before parts
Call or book with the model label, exact behavior, any displayed codes, photos, and access notes.
The technician examines the reported condition in context: fill, wash, drain, drying, controls, leaks, and relevant components.
Findings and proposed work are explained before repair proceeds. The residential diagnostic is credited toward an approved repair.
Service area and operating context
Poway sits in the hills off I-15 - ranch properties of Old Poway, gated Green Valley, newer streets off Espola Road. Garage refrigerators fight summer heat, canyon dust clogs condensers, and hard water leaves scale in ice makers and washer valves.
Inland heat and hard water set the pattern here: garage refrigerators work hardest in summer, dust clogs condensers, and scale builds in ice makers, dishwashers and washer valves.
During maintenance, accessible metal surfaces can be inspected for corrosion, moisture exposure, or conditions that may warrant attention. Location alone does not establish the cause of a failure.
A better repair decision
There is no honest universal age or price threshold. Start with the exact model and a diagnosis.
Local notes · Poway
Most Poway houses were built between 1970 and 1999. A lot of their kitchens have since been redone with panel-ready Monogram dishwashers. The new dishwasher often gets connected to the original plumbing under the sink: old drain lines, older air gaps and supply valves that are decades old. It also runs on city water that averages 236 mg/L, which is very hard. The City of Poway's own FAQ says calcium causes white spots on dishes. We repair Monogram dishwashers throughout 92064, from Old Poway to Green Valley and The Grove.
Poway treats its water at the Berglund plant, mostly from imported raw water brought in by the County Water Authority, plus a small share from Lake Poway. The 2024 report shows an average of 236 mg/L in the distribution system, about 13.8 grains per gallon. That hardness causes three problems in a dishwasher. It leaves a film on glassware, it narrows the holes in the spray arms, and it coats the heater. The remodel history adds a separate set of problems. When a kitchen from the 1980s or 1990s gets a panel-ready dishwasher, the installer usually reuses the existing drain connection, disposal inlet and air gap. If the hose loop is too low or the air gap is partly clogged, the pump has to work harder and the machine sets drain codes. An old supply valve that doesn't open all the way can cause slow fills. Homes here are large, with about 2.9 people per household and many four-bedroom houses, so the dishwasher runs often. Dust from trails and arenas doesn't affect the inside of a dishwasher much, but it does collect on the toe-kick grille and in the space around the unit.
Symptom: C3 (won't drain) or C5 (pump-out too short), water left in the sump, or water backing up from the disposal. Cause: An air gap full of old buildup, a drain hose that sags without a high loop, or a disposal knockout plug that was never removed. A drain pump that's straining can also cause these codes. Fix: We clear the air gap, reroute or replace the hose, check the disposal connection and test the pump.
Symptom: Glasses come out cloudy and gritty, and white residue builds up on the tub and racks. Cause: Very hard water, not enough rinse aid, and spray-arm holes partly closed with scale. Fix: We clear the spray arms, descale the system, check the heater and set rinse aid for about 14 gpg water.
Symptom: PrS on the display and a cycle that stops or won't start washing. Cause: The pressure sensor is sending an invalid signal. This can come from the sensor, its wiring, or a sump problem such as buildup or low water. Fix: We check the fill level and sump, test the sensor and wiring, and replace the part that failed.
Symptom: The fill takes a long time, cycles run long, or the H2O code shows up. Cause: An old supply valve under the sink that doesn't open fully, or an inlet screen clogged with scale. Fix: We check the valve, clean or replace the inlet valve, and recommend a plumber if the house valve needs replacing.
At 236 mg/L, a dishwasher needs rinse aid set high and a descaling cycle every couple of months. Clean the filter monthly. Large families should do it every two weeks. Every few months, pull out the spray arms and check the holes for white buildup. Under the sink, the drain hose should rise in a high loop before it connects. If it hangs low, have it corrected. Vacuum the toe-kick grille now and then so dust doesn't block airflow around the unit.
Poway homes usually have easy driveway parking. Some properties have gates, long drives or animals, so include those details when you book. Clear the sink cabinet completely, because many repairs here involve the air gap, drain hose or supply valve. The model and serial number are on the tub edge, visible with the door open. Write down the code and the point in the cycle where it appeared. If you know the year the kitchen was remodeled, tell us. It helps us guess what the plumbing under the sink looks like.
Many drain and fill problems in Poway remodels come from the plumbing connections rather than the dishwasher, and fixing them costs little compared with a new unit. Scale-related repairs such as spray arms, heaters and inlet valves also make sense on a machine with a custom panel. We would suggest replacing only when the tub is failing or several major parts are worn out together. The $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair.

No. A symptom narrows the search, but the diagnostic visit on the exact model confirms the actual fault before any repair is authorized.
The Floor Protect sensor under the tub found moisture in the base pan. The machine halts and pumps out to protect your floor - and the message stays until the pan is dry and the actual leak is found.
A power cycle may clear the display, but the message returns if water remains - and the leak that caused it is still there. Finding the source is the repair.

Poway's water averages 236 mg/L, and the city's own FAQ mentions white spots on dishes from calcium. Set the rinse aid high, use detergent made for hard water and descale regularly. If spots remain, check the spray arms for clogged holes.
It could. A low drain hose loop, a clogged air gap or a disposal knockout plug left in place will all cause drain codes on a new dishwasher. We check the under-sink connections before replacing any dishwasher parts.
It means the pressure sensor sent an invalid signal. The sensor itself may have failed, or there may be a wiring or sump problem. Turn the power off and back on once. If the code returns, the unit needs a diagnosis.
We check them and tell you if one is restricting the fill. We replace dishwasher parts such as the inlet valve and screen. If the home's shutoff valve itself needs replacing, we'll say so and recommend having a plumber do it.
