Why it matters

One Brand, Several Climates: How Location Changes the Repair
San Diego County spans several climates, and a Thermador range reacts to each one differently. Rangetop: Star burner clicking or not lighting
Symptom: Constant clicking, a single dead burner, or all burners dead. Cause: Caps off their seats, wet or dirty igniters, a knob stuck in spark, gas supply off, or no power. ExtraLow burners cycle the flame by design. Fix: Dry and reseat parts, then test the ignition switch, electrode and spark module. One dead burner usually means cap alignment.
Oven: E plus a number
Symptom: An oven fault shows E followed by digits and the oven stops. Cause: Thermador's generic oven fault display. Press TIMERS to silence, reset, and call if it persists. Fix: We match the code to the model, then test the sensor, element, relay or board it points to.
Induction: F1/F6, F2/F4, U400, E9000/E9010
Symptom: F1/F6 zone overheated; F2/F4 electronics overheated; U400 and E9000/E9010 incorrect supply voltage. Cause: Heat build-up in a zone or the power electronics, or household voltage out of range. Fix: Allow cooling; an electrician checks voltage codes; we diagnose boards if codes recur.
Modules: griddle and steam oven
Symptom: Griddle cold or uneven on 48 inch models; weak steam and descale prompts on 60 inch steam-oven models. Cause: Grease build-up or an ignition part, element or thermostat; mineral scale in the steam system. Fix: Clean the griddle and test its parts; run DESCALE with Thermador descaler, then inspect the steam system.
Platform Care: What Every Thermador Owner Should Do
A few habits cover most of the range. Keep burner caps seated and igniters clean and dry after every cleaning. Self-clean only one oven cavity at a time, with racks removed, and avoid chemical oven cleaners. Run the steam oven's descaling program whenever it asks; Thermador states regular descaling is necessary, and every water system in the county is hard.
Coastal homes: dry the cooktop fully after wiping; inspect igniters every few months.
Inland homes: wipe dust from burner bases weekly, more often after Santa Ana winds.
