Electrolux dishwashers
Electrolux dishwashers report faults in i-codes: i10 for fill, i20 for drain, i30 for the leak switch and kin. The dialect is consistent across the current EDSH machines and the IQ-Touch generation before them - and it is well documented, which makes honest triage possible before the van rolls.
A photo of the model label and the complete installation helps the team understand the configuration before the visit.

EI24ID-series built-ins - same code dialect, earlier hydraulics.
The EW24ID80QS generation with the Wave-Touch panel.
The i-code language spans the family - which is why triage by phone works.
Start with the symptom
A symptom narrows the inspection; it does not identify the failed component. The $99 visit confirms the actual fault on the exact model before any repair is authorized.
The i20 family - filter, hose, air gap and pump, cleared in order.
Perfect Dry depends on rinse aid and a healthy heating circuit - i60 territory.
San Diego hard water versus dosing - settings first, parts second.
Heater and sensing - the documented i60 pattern.
Latch and strike alignment, especially after cabinet work.
The i30 pattern - sump, hoses and door seal inspected before reset.
Series and model numbers
One code dialect across three generations - the model plate picks the hydraulics and the parts, the i-code picks the starting circuit.
Model label
The model and serial plate is on the frame of the tub opening, visible when the door is open. Photograph it before booking. Photograph the complete label — the full model and serial identify parts and production year better than the series name alone.
Indicators and alerts
For any message not shown, use the manual for the exact model rather than a generic list.
Electrolux diagnostics
The i-code meanings are consistent across the official platform documentation and independent service references for this Electrolux/Frigidaire family. Codes whose meanings conflict between sources are excluded.
Preventive service and owner care
Alpha Pro provides preventive and general maintenance for Electrolux dishwashers. The appliance design determines which procedures are accessible and appropriate.
Owner maintenance
Professional maintenance
A professional visit can evaluate accessible systems without assuming every procedure applies to every model.
Diagnosis before parts
Call or book with the model label, exact behavior, any displayed codes, photos, and access notes.
The technician examines the reported condition in context: fill, wash, drain, drying, controls, leaks, and relevant components.
Findings and proposed work are explained before repair proceeds. The residential diagnostic is credited toward an approved repair.
Service area and operating context
From established west-side streets to Otay Ranch's new communities, Chula Vista runs every appliance generation - big families, big laundry loads and builder suites hitting their first repairs.
South Bay and East County bring summer heat, hard water and hard-working family appliances - practical repairs with strong parts availability are the local priority.
During maintenance, accessible metal surfaces can be inspected for corrosion, moisture exposure, or conditions that may warrant attention. Location alone does not establish the cause of a failure.
A better repair decision
There is no honest universal age or price threshold. Start with the exact model and a diagnosis.
Local notes · Chula Vista
Chula Vista is two water towns in one. Otay Water District serves Eastlake, Otay Ranch and Rolling Hills Ranch, while Sweetwater Authority serves the western and central city. Both deliver hard water, but not the same water. Households here also run large, around 3.1 people on average, so a dishwasher can easily run daily or more. We repair Electrolux dishwashers on both sides of town and tune our care advice to the utility that feeds your tap.
Otay Water District's latest report puts its system at about 9.4 grains per gallon, hard but at the milder end for the county. Sweetwater Authority's 2025 figure is 193 mg/L, roughly 11.3 grains, which USGS rates very hard. Both leave deposits on an Electrolux heating element and inlet valve screen, but western homes on Sweetwater usually need rinse aid and cleaner cycles a little more often. Housing adds the next layer. About a third of the city's homes were built in 2000 or later, much of it in master-planned Eastlake, Otay Ranch and Millenia. Dishwashers installed with those homes are now well out of their early years, and electronic controls, pumps and motors are reaching the age where faults appear. The original neighborhoods west of Hilltop Drive hold older stock, where the kitchen has likely seen several replacements and the plumbing under the sink may not match the current machine. Then there is volume. With three or more people at home, the wash motor, drain pump and door latch cycle far more often than in a small household, and that wear pattern shapes what we find when the panel comes off.
Symptom: The machine fills but does not wash, or stops mid-cycle with i50. Cause: The wash motor or drain circuit has faulted. Daily cycles in large households put the most running hours on this assembly. Fix: We reset and test the motor and pump circuits, check for debris jamming the impeller, and replace the motor or pump when it fails testing.
Symptom: Water sits in the tub after the cycle ends, with i20 on the panel. Cause: Food debris in the filter and glass trap, a kinked hose, or a hose that dips below the 32-inch high loop. Fix: We clear the filter and trap, straighten and loop the hose, and replace the drain pump if it cannot clear water on its own.
Symptom: The cycle won't start or pauses, and the panel shows CL with the door shut. Cause: The door latch or its switch isn't registering closed. Frequent opening and closing through a busy day wears the latch mechanism and switch. Fix: We test the latch switch, adjust the strike and replace the latch assembly if the switch fails.
Symptom: No water enters, and i10 appears after a few minutes. Cause: A kinked supply line under a crowded sink, a failed inlet valve, or a faulty pressure sensor. Mineral buildup on the inlet screen restricts flow over time. Fix: We confirm water pressure, clean or replace the valve and test the pressure sensor.
With daily loads, the filter needs frequent attention. Scrape plates instead of prerinsing, then clean the filter weekly. On Sweetwater water, keep rinse aid full and run a cleaner cycle monthly. On Otay water you can usually stretch the cleaner cycle to every six weeks, but watch glassware for film and tighten the schedule if it appears. Ask everyone in the house to close the door gently, because the latch takes the abuse on a busy machine. Pet owners should also check the filter for hair after rinsing pet bowls in the rack.
Tell us your neighborhood and, if you know it, your water utility; the bill will say Otay or Sweetwater. In gated master-planned communities, leave a gate code or add us to the guest list. Apartment and townhome residents should confirm whether the landlord or HOA needs to approve the repair first. Have the model and serial number ready from the tub rim or door edge, plus the code and when it appears. We test before quoting, and nothing is replaced without your approval.
Many east-side homes still have the dishwasher that came with the house, and some are now in their second decade. Age alone doesn't decide it. A pump, inlet valve, latch or heater on a sound tub is routine work. If the control board fails on an older unit and the gasket and racks are also tired, replacement is often the better use of money. Our diagnostic fee goes toward the repair if you go ahead.

No. A symptom narrows the search, but the diagnostic visit on the exact model confirms the actual fault before any repair is authorized.
A drain fault: the machine could not empty in time. Check the filter and air gap first; if i20 returns, the full drain path needs a visit.
Leak detection - moisture reached the base pan. Close the supply and book promptly; the code holds until the source is repaired.
That is the i60 heating pattern - water not reaching temperature. The heater and relay are testable directly.
On the frame of the tub opening, visible when the door is open.
Yes - EI24ID and EW24ID generations share the dialect and much of the parts platform.
Check your water bill. Otay Water District generally serves eastern Chula Vista, including Eastlake, Otay Ranch and Rolling Hills Ranch. Sweetwater Authority serves the western and central city. Both are hard, and Sweetwater's 2025 average of 193 mg/L falls in the very hard range.
You can switch off the breaker for a minute and try one more cycle. If i50 returns, stop there. The code points to the wash motor or drain circuit, and repeated restarts can overheat the motor. A technician should test it.
It is a common wear item on busy machines. If the cycle won't start or the panel shows CL with the door firmly shut, the latch or its switch is the first thing we check. The repair is usually quick.
Yes, with the owner or property manager's approval. Many tenants call us after the manager authorizes the visit. We can send the findings and quote directly to whoever approves the repair, which keeps the process moving without extra phone tag.
