The fresh-food side depends on air moved from the freezer's evaporator. A fan locked by ice or a defrost failure that has frosted over the coil stops that airflow. LG's FF, rF and dH codes often show up with this symptom.
Can I still file a claim under the LG compressor settlement?
No. The Bentley v. LG settlement covered units made from 2014 to 2017, and its claim deadline was January 11, 2021. Newer complaints have been filed, but check LG's current compressor warranty for your model first.
How long should an LG take to cool after a reset?
Give it several hours before judging. A full pull-down from room temperature can take most of a day. If the freezer isn't noticeably colder within a few hours and the compressor is silent, call for service rather than waiting.

Next, look for codes: FF or rF points to a fan, dH to defrost, and CH, CL, 22 or 33 to the refrigeration system. With no code, feel for warm air at the base and check that the condenser isn't clogged. If only the fresh-food side is warm, suspect frost blocking airflow. If both sections are warm and the compressor seems silent, the linear compressor or its board is the likely cause.
