Dacor was founded in 1965 by Stanley M. Joseph and designed and built its appliances in Southern California. In 2016 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics America. That history shapes cooktop repair. A San Diego kitchen might have a legacy Dacor gas top with spark reignition, or a newer induction model built around Samsung-era power electronics.
