Frigidaire wall ovens
Frigidaire wall ovens share the range line's F-code dialect, and Frigidaire documents it openly: F10 for runaway temperature, F30/F31 for the temperature probe, F90 for the door lock. That makes most oven calls a confirmation, not an exploration - the probe's resistance either matches the chart or it doesn't.
A photo of the model label and the complete installation helps the team understand the configuration before the visit.

Start with the symptom
A symptom narrows the inspection; it does not identify the failed component. The $99 visit confirms the actual fault on the exact model before any repair is authorized.
The self-clean aftermath: thermal fuse and door lock - the most predictable oven call there is.
Probe calibration versus element health - measured against the chart, not vibes.
F90 territory - the lock is released and repaired, never forced.
Element and relay isolation on hidden-bake cavities.
Power path, thermal fuse, control - photographed before any reset.
Each cavity has its own probe and elements - the code names which.
Series and model numbers
Single, double or Gallery - the control dialect is the same, and the model plus the F-code together name the failed circuit before the panel comes off.
Model label
The serial plate is on the oven's front frame, visible when the door is open - check the cavity edge behind the door, left or right side. Photograph the complete label — the full model and serial identify parts and production year better than the series name alone.
Indicators and alerts
For any message not shown, use the manual for the exact model rather than a generic list.
Frigidaire diagnostics
F10, F13, F30/F31 and the F-code guide are published on Frigidaire's own owner portal, with F11 and F90 confirmed across the same official service dialect. The exhaustive third-party F-lists that conflict with the official guide are excluded.
Preventive service and owner care
Alpha Pro provides preventive and general maintenance for Frigidaire wall ovens. The appliance design determines which procedures are accessible and appropriate.
Owner maintenance
Professional maintenance
A professional visit can evaluate accessible systems without assuming every procedure applies to every model.
Diagnosis before parts
Call or book with the model label, exact behavior, any displayed codes, photos, and access notes.
The technician examines the reported condition in context: preheat behavior, temperatures, elements, door fit, controls, and relevant components.
Findings and proposed work are explained before repair proceeds. The residential diagnostic is credited toward an approved repair.
Service areas and operating context
Alpha Pro serves Frigidaire wall ovens in communities including La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Carmel Valley, Poway, and the full San Diego County footprint below — ZIP by ZIP. Installation and room conditions vary from the coast to inland homes.
Recurring condensation, marine exposure, ventilation limits, and visible corrosion can be useful details during repair or maintenance.
Share room conditions, recent heat events, ventilation restrictions, and when the symptom appears.
During maintenance, accessible metal surfaces can be inspected for corrosion, moisture exposure, or conditions that may warrant attention. Location alone does not establish the cause of a failure.
A better repair decision
There is no honest universal age or price threshold. Start with the exact model and a diagnosis.
Local notes · San Diego County
Frigidaire is Electrolux Group's mass-market brand, sold in three lines: Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery and Frigidaire Professional. Its wall ovens, single, double and combination, share one electronic control platform and one F-code set with the brand's ranges. That consistency helps with diagnosis: an F10 in a Chula Vista double oven means the same thing as an F10 in a La Jolla range. This county-wide page explains the codes, the failures behind them, how coastal and inland conditions change the odds, and how we weigh repair against replacement.
The county stretches from 70-plus miles of coastline across inland valleys to mountains and desert, and oven problems follow the geography. On the coast, the marine layer and salt air drive corrosion. Stainless trim, door hinges, element terminals and igniter connectors oxidize, which causes intermittent heating and stiff doors on oceanfront blocks. Inland, heat is the enemy. El Cajon averages 88.6 degrees in August and La Mesa 85.9, with the hottest days reaching around 100. A built-in oven in tight cabinetry depends on its cooling fan to protect the control board and keypad, and a hot kitchen erodes that margin; self-clean on a hot afternoon stacks the stress. Santa Ana winds from September to April bring dry, dusty air that coats cooling fans and vents. The grid is a county-wide factor. In the September 2024 heat wave, SDG&E set a record 5,032 MW peak demand, and outages and power sags during events like that can damage electronic controls. Housing matters too, from 2000s master-planned kitchens in eastern Chula Vista to 1970s-1990s homes in Poway and high-rise condos on the coast. Water hardness, a big issue for other appliances here, rarely affects a standard Frigidaire oven.
Symptom: Overheating or shutdown with F10. On pizza-oven models, the Pizza Shield may be out of position. Cause: Oven sensor out of range, a relay welded closed on the control board, or damaged wiring. Fix: Cut power for 30 seconds; on pizza models, put the Pizza Shield in rack position 7. If it returns, we ohm-test the sensor, check the relay board and replace the faulty part.
Symptom: F30 (open) or F31 (short) with the oven stopped. Cause: The oven sensor or meat probe circuit has failed, or a harness was pinched during installation. Fix: Power reset first. Then we test the sensor, probe jack and harness and replace the failed part.
Symptom: Door stays locked after self-clean, or won't lock to start one. Cause: Door lock motor or switch assembly failure, typically after the heat of a self-clean cycle. Fix: Press UNLOCK and reset power for 30 seconds. If the code persists, replace the lock assembly.
Symptom: Beeping, unresponsive keys, or a communication or identification code. Cause: F1 is a shorted keypad; F3, F20 and F26 are communication faults; F12 and F13 relate to control identification and E-prompt. Harness or board failure is typical. Fix: We check the harness, then replace the keypad or board. F40/F41 indicate cooktop lockout on ranges.
A few rules apply from Oceanside to the border. The first step for most Frigidaire codes is a 30-second power cut at the breaker. Use self-clean sparingly, since it stresses locks, sensors and elements; inland owners should avoid it on hot days. Coastal owners should wipe salt film from hinges and trim. Don't line oven floors with foil. The CPSC warns it blocks combustion air in gas ovens and raises carbon monoxide risk. Keep CO alarms on every level of the home, but not directly above the oven.
We service Frigidaire ovens throughout San Diego County as an independent repair company. When you book, tell us the model and serial number, whether it is a wall oven, double oven or range, gas or electric, and the exact code. Photos of the display and model tag help. Let us know about gates, HOA rules or elevator reservations. Gas smell always comes first: leave the home and call SDG&E before booking. For local details, see our Chula Vista, La Jolla and Poway oven pages.
Most Frigidaire oven repairs make financial sense. Elements, sensors, door locks and keypads are generally cost-effective, and built-in replacements have to match the existing cabinet cutout, which limits options and can add carpentry. A single control board is usually worth replacing. The balance tips toward replacement on older units needing a board and lock together, or when parts are discontinued. Our $99 diagnostic is credited toward the repair, and we'll give you a straight answer.

Yes - same-day windows are offered across San Diego County subject to the day's schedule. Availability is confirmed for the exact address when you book.
Yes. It is non-refundable and credited toward the total repair cost if you proceed. There are no residential exceptions.
A 90-day labor warranty and a 1-year parts warranty, both starting on the date the repair is completed.
No. A symptom narrows the search, but the diagnostic visit on the exact model confirms the actual fault before any repair is authorized.
Officially: thermal runaway - the control believes the cavity is overheating. Cut power at the breaker and book; the probe and relay board are tested in that order.
Open (F30) or shorted (F31) temperature probe circuit - the official pair. One resistance measurement at the connector splits probe from wiring from board.
Self-clean runs the cavity at maximum heat and stresses the thermal fuse and door lock - the classic aftermath, and a routine repair.
On the front frame behind the door - open the door and check the cavity edge.
Officially it is an internal memory failure. A power reset is tried first; a returning F13 means the board is replaced - a defined, quotable repair.
Largely, yes. Frigidaire's wall ovens share the electronic control platform and F-code set with its ranges. F10, F30, F31 and F90 to F94 mean the same thing on both. Ranges add codes like F40 and F41 for cooktop lockout, and a dash on the display means the cooktop is locked.
You can try the first step Frigidaire recommends: cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore it. For door lock codes, press UNLOCK first. If the code returns, stop using the oven. Repeated resets won't fix a failed sensor, relay or lock, and F10 in particular is a safety warning.
Yes. Coastal ovens see more corrosion at hinges, element terminals and igniter connections, leading to intermittent heating. Inland ovens see more heat stress on control boards, keypads and cooling fans, especially after summer self-clean cycles. The F-codes are the same, but the likely cause differs.
It's a good habit for any gas or electric oven. Look up your model and serial number on cpsc.gov or the manufacturer's site. If a recall applies, the manufacturer provides the remedy, and an independent shop should not perform it. If there is no recall, we can diagnose the problem.
